Jewelry company fraud ruling, new Delaware restaurants, holiday travel forecast

Hey, there, Small Wonder.
Happy Hump Day! Together, we can get over the hump together, and onward to the weekend.
Today is National Absurdity Day. If that doesn’t give you free creative license to be weird, I do not know what does … It’s also National Peanut Fudge Day. (You can have mine!)
I just started watching “Bad Sisters’’ on AppleTV.  Any fans out there? So far, I’m having trouble keeping all those sisters straight …
We want to tell the stories of people who traveled aboard the SS United States. If you have a story and/or photos to share, email [email protected].
Are you planning to travel for Thanksgiving? AAA predicts record-breaking numbers. What this means for you. Here are some more stories to support your holiday vibes:
I look forward to sharing the Thanksgiving traditions you shared with me soon.
And now, more news …
A national jewelry company that settled with 18 states and the Federal Trade Commission in 2022 following claims that it “deceived and defrauded” more than 46,000 service members and veterans across the country must reopen its claims process and re-notify former customers, a federal judge has ruled.
As Isabel Hughes reports, Harris Jewelry “violated its prior settlement” by “prematurely shutting down the claims portal,” the judge found. Delaware was one of the dozen-and-a-half states involved in the 2022 settlement, which totaled more than $34 million.
“With this year’s Veteran’s Day just past us, we are reminded to be vigilant against those who would take advantage of those who have served our country,” said Delaware Attorney General Kathy Jennings in a Tuesday news release.

Are you the Clark Griswold of Delaware?
Delaware Online/The News Journal is creating a map of holiday light displays around the First State. From small displays to those that rival Mr. Griswold, we want them all included on our map.
The map will allow residents to drive around and see these displays. Last year was the first year we offered this DIY-lights tour map.
We need your help to highlight where the best displays are in your neighborhood or at local businesses.
Our plan is to launch the map the week of Thanksgiving and continue to update it throughout the first few weeks of December. We would love a robust map at launch, so please make sure your home or business is included early so it’s there when we go live.
So, show off your work and add your house or business to the map by filling out this form.
If you have questions, please contact Michelle Ganassi at mailto:[email protected].
